About Us

Life Art is a non profit of Southern Oregon with a focus on helping kids manage their emotions through art instead of becoming overwhelmed by them. Our team is dedicated to providing children with a safe and creative space to express themselves through various forms of art. We believe that by giving children the tools to manage their emotions, we can empower them to lead happier and more fulfilling lives. Thank you for supporting our mission.

Our Story

One night in 2009, Phil heard the sound of paint cans outside his garage. When he stepped outside, he saw two kids spraying his garage. Phil said, “Gentlemen, good morning.” The two kids were startled as Phil grabbed their backpacks and welcomed them inside for a conversation. The kids explained that they were painting a mural in memory of their cousin and brother who had recently committed suicide. Phil asked, “Why not put their art on canvas instead of the back of someone’s shop that might not be seen?” They replied, “With what art supplies? And who would listen?” Phil decided to change that. He supplied them with materials and invited them back for art classes. And with that simple gesture, Life Art was born—a space where young artists could express themselves, be heard, and create something meaningful.
